    hp dv4000 with problems

    hello all, every time i turn the comp on it goes to a blank screen with cursor, i can move the cursor but nothing else...i`ve tried f5, safe mode, last known that worked ect and still get the same outcome...

    i had exactly the same problem with my pc (posted on this site and sister site got not help at all tho) and have spent most the day reformating and reinstalling xp and everything else i use...anyway i`m on it now so it works again...

    the laptop however has got alot of things i`d like to keep so would appreciate some help on this one....

    I`m preety sure its a virus that i`ve picked up is there any way to get rid of it and make the laptop work again without having to reinstall and lose everything?


    can anyone help please?
