    Hey,
    http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/HP-P...53439/catOid/-12963/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

I just purchased the above laptop and it seems to be running pretty well except for all the **** bloatware that comes with it. well, that's actually not the problem. i just hate that garbage. Anyway, the processor is a 1.8 GHz Turion but the system properties window says 767 MHz. i checked it with CPUz and it says 795 MHz but on the bottom it says the multiplier is 4. Should i be concerned that my laptop is not running at full speed because i checked the laptop at the store and it said 1.79 GHz. Anyone care to explain this?

    Thanks in advance.
    Pritesh

The dv5000's 4x multiplier is only ~800MHz. When it needs extra processing power, the processor is throttled to the full speed, in your case, 1.8GHz.

This is good since when it uses less power it gets better battery life.

Yeah. Its Power Now which dynamically controls the clock speed, so it will slow it to 800MHz when idle and increse it to its full speed as and when needed.

1280x800 is as high as you can go.

Well, I probably don't know more. But I'm learning more everyday, cause this site got me really interested in this stuff. But it'd be pretty logical to me, that if WXGA+ is only 1200*800, that it wouldn't support 2536x2536. But I'm not 100% sure.

The other one is the external resolution hooked to an external monitor.
