    im planning to upgrade my hdd but i can't figure out if it is ata6 or ata150?

    also anyone tried 7200rpm on their dv6000z?

    any brand suggestion? im leaning towards seagate (to play safe)

    I believe its Serial ATA(SATA).

    You can physically look at the hard drive or use HD tune, NHC, PC wizard, Everest Home Edition to find out the Model #(google the model number and you should be able to find out which interface it is).

    7200RPM is fine. I usually buy Seagate.

    I have a Seagate 7200.2 (SATA) in mine and it works flawlessly (and is quiet).

    No, it does not have to be the same brand (but I usually shop for compatibility, so I pair them up as close as possible)..........

    i believe 32 bit only supports up to 2.5 GB not four
