    i just purchased a dv6500z and it came with norton 2007 i recently installed norton 2008 and now my hp total care advisor says no antivirus or fire walls installed does this only work with the version of norton that came preinstalled? also ive been having problems with the quickplay remote every button works on it ecept the media center button hp sent me a replacement at no charge but the new one is doing the same thing all drivers are uptodate and latest quick play software is installed is there an issue with that button

    No ANY antivirus software built for windows will work with your notebook.Just a side note-hopefully you uninstalled norton 2007 before installing the new one and try restarting you machine.

    Personally I will not use Norton as it takes up a lot of resources.

    yes i uninstalled it but the total care advisor still says no anti vrus installed and firewall turned off and norton says its working fine i think that the total care advisor is made to go only with the version of norton thats preinstalled
