this is my first time here on the forum, after i purchased my new laptop hp dv6700, wich is labled as dv6883 cl, my problem is that m not sure that my bios is functioning well.
to state it, my bios is F.52, i have 5 tabs:
-main
showing date and informations on the model
-security
administartor password
power on password
-diagnostics
primary hard disk self test
memory test
-system configuration
language
button sound
virtualization technology
processor c4 state
boot options
tha's all what i have in the bios, there is no control , no configuration, i cant setup anything.
I dont know if there is something wrong here, but at least there should be a vga shared ram settings, so i can setup how much dedicated and how much shared the vga should access, but i have nothing.
Please if someone have the same model and can post his bios screenshots will be more helpfull, and if someone can tell me how to change vga shared ram, and if my bios is corrupted or not.
Thank you all in advance for your help.

Laptop BIOS are not very smart...most of it is hardcoded.
You will not need to change the VRAM settings. For one, integrated cards do not perform well. For two, dedicated cards do not use system memory very well at all. Either way, increasing the shared VRAM will not make it a more powerful card.
And one more thing: drivers handle the amount of VRAM, and it is dynamically changed to obtain only as much is needed for the current job. -
Your BIOS is normal. OEM manufacturer's give users as little control as possible because most users know nothing about what they are doing in the BIOS.

@Greag:
my vga card is not integrated, it's dedicated , NVIDIA geforce 8400M GS with 256 MB.
But it share the physical ram to reach 2 GB of rams, so it take approx 1.75 GB of my 4 GB rams, sure it dont take them all always, but always I have 1.25 GB of ram going for the VGA. So what I want is not increasing, knowing that increasing MB will not change it's performance well, instead what I want is lower the shared or even turn it off and use only the 256 MB dedicated, if this is possible plz anyone tell me, my brother HP tablet have this option also.
@sr.agent.riot:
so you mean that flashing to a newer bios will not show the shadowed bios?
If there anyway to unlock the bios setting plz point me. -
And no, there is no key combination or anything to unlock additional features (none that I have found, at least). The only way to modify it is to get a BIOS editor designed to work with your BIOS .rom files and to hack it yourself. But, you must really know what you're doing to do it effectively and correctly.
hp dv6700 bios help please
