    hp dv7t-3180us biometric devices not showing up in windows 8.1 x64?

    I have the dv7t-3180us.. i cant get biometric devices to show up or be an option in device manager or control panel.. i've tried installing newer 4.x validity drivers to no avail.. i've followed some tips online that outlined how this should work but i cant get it to work (some of these tips have dead links too)..

    I tried in device manager to add legacy hardware then browse to the inf for one of the folders (or many of them) in the extracted validity sensors .exe file.. it always says the hardware is incompatible.

    Is there any way to make this dv7-3xxx fingerprint reader work under windows 8.1 x64 that someone has discovered?
