    hp dv8000 lcd repair

    the monitor on my hp doesn't have a full image i guess that the cable attaching the monitor aren't plugged in all the way. does anyone have a solution or could tell me how to take apart my hp to get to these cables

    if its been that way since you got it then you should call hp support or take it back to the store from which you got it.

    Hook it up to an external monitor. That will tell you if it's the screen or something else. The DV800 hasn't been sold for a while. I'm guessing it's not under warranty unless the OP purchased the extended warranty.

    It is the screen not the cable. If the cable wasn't properly connected you would not see anything

    well my monitor works but only when i pull the left toop corner forward and i have to keep constant preasure. this is what makes me think it is a cable problem. i've taken it apart and the cable is hooked fully to the mother board, i guess i guess i was hopping that somebody had a similar problem. i'm not the best with comps but i'm not bad so if somebody knows a solution i could do it if not i'll have to take it to a repair shop and that would cost me.
