I'm going to clone and replace my c drive on my hp dv9500. it's a factory 100gb model.

looking to not break the bank and stay around $80 max and looking for a 200-320 gb hd drive.

I work this computer hard so the drive needs to be able to handle the stress.

any recommendations on a hard drive? what about cloning software that works via usb port?

    thanks for any help.

Acronis works well for that purpose.

A free alternative is Macrium Reflect: http://www.macrium.com/ReflectFree.asp

You can get a 320GB 7200 RPM HDD for the price range you're looking at. I own several 320GB 7200 Seagate drives and not a single issue.

Newegg has the bare drive (no retail packaging) for $70.
