i just thought i should let your people know that microsoft store is offering the envy 14 for a 799$
HP ENVY 14-1111nr - Buy from Microsoft Store
also offering the dm4 for 799$
HP Pavilion dm4-1164nr - Buy from Microsoft Store
but with the intel widi enabled
xps14 is for 999$
really really puzzled which one to buy....
-
I don't know...the choice is obvious to me, the Envy 14.
-
dunno
features and tech spec wise _> the nvy is beaten..
but build quality is a sure winner
if it was the black beats edition i would of got it no brainer
specially if it was with the radiant screen
with that config
i dunno little hesitated -
Dm4 does not have a dedicated GPU, so choice for me is ENVY.
-
yes i agree but it has the widi feature
which is pretty nice
hp pises me off sometime
the envy is will and capable of running the widi but its not enabled.. -
sorry, but what is widi? Is that similar to wifi?
-
I believe widi is short for wireless display.

I can't believe the dm4 and Envy 14 cost the same thing. Wouldn't be a hard choice for me.
-
I noticed the same deal on the Microsoft store and just ordered my e14 last night from there. They must be coming out with a new version soon for places to be having such great deals on the e14. Just a few months ago the same envy 14 with the same config would have cost around $1200. I think $799 is pretty darn good. I would have prefered to get a new model with maybe USB 3.0, Radiance, better battery, SB, and whatever it would have come with but it would probably start at $999 and wouldn't go below that for a long time.
-
I totally agree with you on this one. Will likely be a spring time release at full retail price, no discounts. The base configuration at $999 will probably not include the radiance upgrade either. Plus no Bing cash back so you won't be seeing the 30% cashback crazyness that went on when the Envy 14 first came out.
I imagine the first set of discount will be seen around end of summer when people make their purchases for back to school. That's a long wait... -
I literally bought one at amazon a few days ago for $930. Does microsoft not charge tax too? If they don't, then I just got ripped off $130. -_-...

looooooool
talking about luck

Can somone tell me what the hell is going on? Is this laptop seriously discontinued? I mean i know price drops for older models to make way for the new ones...but isnt this a bit excessive? Im seriously about to get money to buy a laptop in exactly ONE MONTH and NOW is when AALLLL the deals are. Needless to say; im incredibly pissed. Will this Microsoft Store deal be here for long? or no? Will i just have to drop $1200 on a "discontinued" model because; most likely, I wont be able to afford the refreshed version?
Edit: and i was waiting to actually join this forum until i HAD my laptop; but i really couldn't wait anymore seeing this thread. -
pretty much the same situation here.. getting the money in like 2 weeks and now i'm sitting around watching ppl buy it off microsoft for 800 and hoping they wont sell out. also hoping amazon will drop the price soon haha
-
I just bought mine from the microsoft store last night and i don't remember paying tax more than $799. Plus I was able to get it shipped in two business days for only 5 bucks extra
night racer im not sure how long that deal is gonna last. I got one right away because $800 was as much as I wanted to spend and I have never seen the envy 14 for anything below that so I didn't want to risk waiting a second. That $500 dollar discount went away in just 24 hours so depending on how much Microsoft has in stock, these could go very quickly as well.
And the refresh model will likely start at $999 -
ok thats it
i am buying this
any idea where to find the battery slice ? -
Good luck on finding a Slice battery... Amazon has them for 209. Took me a week. I heard that HP is dropping this line.
-
loooool
now you got me hesitated again
but it is kinda true with the batteries out off stock everywhere -
I just found them in the HP Parts Store... They have them there and in stock. $128 to boot! Search on here for the part #
-
can you please give me the url ?
-
Did a little Googling, lol. Found it for you. Good luck.

Guys, Computers from the HP store are nice, but once they run out they are out. I have purchased two from the store when they do that type of discount and I have been impressed with all my purchases. If that was a beats edition I would return mine and get that one. BTW, pony up the $100 if you aren't comfortable with HP tech support. They are amazing for help, and they answer when you call.

thanks a million KJ
but its giving me the home page : HP Parts Store - HP Computer Parts - HP Printer Parts - Compaq Parts | Awesome Screenshot -
Why is the E14 now $50 than it has been all this time? For the past 2-3 month the E14 has been 899 with HPA...but now its 940 with HP academy? And on top of that the choice to buy recovery disks is gone (which is one of the reasons why i chose HP) AND the option for I3 processor is missing too. I have $1230 so spend on a laptop...and right now with tax and everything the E14 is $1220. ugh...maybe i should look at other computers...
EDIT: Maybe it wont be so bad...I5 processors are great...and i do have 1230 for a laptop....so i guess if im gonna buy my first laptop, i might as well do it right. And what batter way with the "laptop of the year" -
hmm that is weird. I clicked your copy of my post and your link does take me to a screen print. but when I click on my original post it takes you to the live page...IDK.
If I were you just go to Google and google HP parts and see if you get it that way. Good luck.

Star Forge Quaggan's Creed Redux!
I prefer to order from Laptop Parts & Repair, Notebook Computer Repair, Printer Parts - Spare Parts Warehouse as they don't tax you and they often sell you the same parts directly from HP 5% under HP's listing prices.
PS: Make sure you order via phone and not online as their site's list prices aren't often updated with HP's current prices and may look like they are more but if you ask a rep to do a price match or slight discount, most of the time they will comply and give you a price reduction when you order over the phone.
