Alright, so here's the problem. certain keys on my keyboard will not work, and gets worse everytime I restart it. at first, it was the 'R' key, now it's the "T" and "G" and "B" key. They won't type anything and every once in a while if I press them, a new tab will appear, or the calculator will appear or something.
However, the keyboard works PERFECTLY, if I press f12, and turn the hp WLAN assistant off. So therefore, I can type just fine as long as I am not connected to the internet...through HP's WLAN at least...which is odd because if I disconnect the router or turn off internet through any other method, my keyboard still messes up. Even when i do connect to the internet, through a cable or something, it still works AS LONG as I shut off WLAN.
i have hp pavilion laptop dv6-3152nr with windows 7 64bit.

Uninstall the WLAN assistant, and then reinstall it if you want. You can manage your internet connections just fine through the default Windows networking options.

uninstall it and dont reinstall it and see if it works

Pull your keyboard out and reseat its connector. Or boot into an Ubuntu liveCD and see if the problem exists there. You have to narrow it down either to hardware or software.

Lithus is on the right track here, but it could also be with your hotkeys software or maybe your 'fn' key could be sticking, too. Also, check your keyboard language settings in case something goofy is going on there, too.
If you want to check that, go into your control panel, open Regional & Language options, click on the 'Languages' tab, and click the 'Details' button and see if there are any extra things placed there. A typical setup should just have a layout like this for English US.
-EN English (United States)
Keyboard
- US
There may also be an extra entry there sometimes by default, but if you see something fishy, narrow it down to this setting and see if it didn't reroute your keys for other stuff.
Also check your add/remove programs to see if there are any keyboard shortcut programs installed as well and remove any and ALL wireless utilities so that only Windows Zero config util is there to control your wireless connections. If that doesn't do it, check to see if there is any grime underneath your keys that may be shorting out key presses. You just might have to clean the keyboard. Using an air compressor or blower to remove dust from the keys works pretty well, too.
hp keyboard problem *sigh*
