    hp laptop black screen

    Hi everyone

    I just replaced the back piece to the laptop (behind the back of the lcd as well as the front bezel

    Know the laptop powers up but, the screen stays black

    any ideas of what it could be?

    My guess would be that you didn't reconnect a wire, or injured a wire while replacing the piece.

    Yea check out the display panel cable on the left of the display inverter and the backlight cable on the right side. If these are not seated all the way in that is the problem.
    Also you should be disconnected from AC power and take the battery out to avoid zapping the inverter.

    Which also implies that, if you didn't disconnect from power and pull the battery, you may have fried one or more components already, which might explain the black screen. :(
