    hp nx6110 soundcard problem!?!

    Hi!

    I have hp nx6110 laptop with my xp sp2 on it.I installed original drivers from hp site, drivers work fine, but everytime i restart my pc i have to install them again otherwise system doesn't seem to recognise a soundcard...

    could be sp2 problem?


    please help,!!

    p.s. laptop is brand new

    Try booting into safe mode, go into Device Manager and delete your sound device (if it's listed) and boot back into normal mode. This should redetect the sound hardware. It's possible you had conflicting/corrupt drivers or something. This will clear the settings and rescan.

    If this doesn't resolve it, try using the restore CD and manually re-install the drivers from the HP site (don't use the Application/Driver DVD included with the system).

    Finally, if after all that and the same problem, it's the unit itself. Send it back and get a new replacement unit.
