    hp nx6110 video card and sound card problem

    I have recently wiped out my hp nx6110 and have reinstalled windows XP. I have had no problems finding all of the drivers for everything.

    My problem is, everytime i try to install the video card driver, the screen goes immediately blank and the only way you can see anything is to plug it into an external monitor. It is not the function monitor switch button. I have gotten the driver from hp and intel, neither work.

    Same thing with the sound. I have installed the correct up-to-date drivers and nothing.

    sounds to me that the video mode is non VESA compliant or something...

    I have one of these as my download box, and the drivers on it install just fine, although mine has a redeon in it ...

    whats the driver setting the video res to? standard VGA?
