Hi, I was referred by a friend who has a t7200 c2duo processor in her laptop. My new hp has a T5500. Can I upgrade to T7300 or even better to T 9300?
    Thanks

You can upgrade to any even numbered 7 series cpu, aka 7200, 7400, 7600. Not the 7300 or T series.

Sorry, I guess I made a little mistake above: it's a T5450 that I have right now, detailed specs @ hp.com. I am looking for a possible upgrade to T9100 or T9300 in the future. I'm not a gamer, only looking for better office performance, photo editing, a few heavier applications in fashion design. Please let me know if it is worth such an upgrade for my work.
Thanks and apologizes again for the mistake.

Yes you can, provided that you are willing to spend $300+ for a T9300 and have the time to install it. However, keep in mind that your warranty will be void.............
