I'm considering paying the extra $100 to add in the 256MB ATI Radeon HD 3450 to the dv5z I'm customizing...
My question is if I add that in does this machine make use of the "Hybrid Crossfire " capabilities and have the integrated and dedicated work together?
-
Ok well from the reading I've now done it doesn't look like anyone has had any luck enabling crossfire.
If anyone knows otherwise please fill me in!
One more question...
If opt to just go with the integrated is the ATI Radeon HD 3450 something I can purchase and add later on? -
you can't add it later on. Also you can't use crossfire.
-
HP for some reason chose not to enable the hybrid crossfire mode in the dv5z, I know it sucks.
As for purchasing the integrated HD3200 and then upgrading later(to the HD3450 or higher) no you can't do that as the graphics on all dv5 series cannot be upgraded. -
Thanks guys. I went ahead and just bought it with the integrated. I figured out that my girlfriends dv7 also has the HD3200 and it runs just fine while playing WoW.
This is the final config I ended up with (for anyone who cares lol)
