    hi,
im helping out a friend who's core i7 720qm is stuck on 2.5ghz instead of 1.6 (on cpuz),
and as a result it heats up and doesn't allow for proper multi-threading...

    is there an easy fix?
    would a format help?

    bios doesn't help...
    restoration attempted - no luck.

    thanks, naorai.

btw- he is runing hp dv6, windows 7 64 home premium sp1, ati 5650.
