    hi!

i have a really huge problem with my hp laptop. its a pavillion 6748us with amd turion x 64 (2). 2 gb of ram and 250 gb hard drive.

i have a problem with it. whenever im using it and start opening different programs or run many things at the time, it heats up and then shuts down automatically.

i thought it was the fan. i cleaned it up but it has the same problem. i bought a cooling pad and the problem is still there. i dont know what to do.
for instance i cant not even do a hard drive check because it makes the procesor work to much and shuts down. i cant even create genius playlist on itunes because it makes the laptop work harder and shuts down.

i have windows 7, recently installed and since then, it begun to fail more. i used to have vista and didnt quite have that problem but when i tried to restart the computer, it would shut down and not start again.

do anyone have a problem like this one?

    please help!

Best guess is that the heatsink was mounted improperly at the factory. If you want to fix it yourself you can take apart the notebook, clean out the heatsink, remove the factory thermal gunk with Arcticlean, replace the thermal pad on the GeForce 7150 with a copper penny (pre-1982, newer is zinc), apply Arctic Silver 5, put it back together and that should make a dramatic difference. The HP service guide does a pretty good job of walking you through disassembly.
