ok so i found this laptop and everything works 100% but the screen has a red hue and blank out alot and you have to push that little pin thing couple times so the screen comes back on.

but now its hardly stays on and i figure i get a screen for it and i was looking on ebay and found one for cheep and found one thats a zx5000 with a inverter with a number as LP154W01 A3 K.

i took my screen out and its ltn154x1-l02 so different numbers but it looks like it wil fit sense they look the same.

do you think it will fit?

the seller just got back to me and said it will work for me so i guess that's a yes :)

next buy for it is the battery sense the one it came with aint holding up at all gets down to 60% than just dies... but the laptop is worth fixing sense it works good and it came with a cool dock that has speakers and alot of usbs and other thing in it.

Red hue means that the CCFL backlight is failing. Replacing that and the inverter should fix things (an inverter going bad may have damaged the backlight). Replacing backlights requires a little soldering. Shops that sell them on eBay can generally point you to walkthroughs.

Lithium ion batteries are lucky to last a few years. If you're still on the original battery you've done well.

ya i figured it would be the backlight which why im replacing the screen i was thinking of just replacing the back light would be much cheaper but im not good soldering mainly small stuff and i herd if you crack the ccfl it has those harmful stuff in it that can cause cancer?

ya the battery i bet is the original because the place i got it from was from a company that i work for to clean didn't want it no more and they usely just leave them sit on there desk till something goes wrong with them.
