I don't recommend attempting to upgrade your notebook's CPU.

I upgraded the one in my sig to a T9300. Wasn't that hard, just need to pay attention to where everything goes.

    T7200 2ghz
    T7400 2.2ghz
    T7600 2.3ghz

Be aware that changing the CPU will void your warranty. Upgrading the CPU on the dv9000's are abit of a pain compared to other brands. I suggest you study the service manual and watch the video guides before attempting to do so.

Honestly, there isn't any point...it isn't going to make the notebook any faster unless you current peg the CPU to 100% now!

I noticed a nice increase with mine, but I did the Memory and HDD upgrade at the same time. I will put my money on the HDD's being the part that showed the most increase.

hmm. I think you'll get a bigger boost of performance by just increasing your ram. You only have a gigabyte right now, so go get another gig.

thanks all,,,i probably will not upgrade,,,since the pent m,s are costly.....still think i can do it.....i like challenges,,,,and the warranty is nothing ii would worry about, ,,,since i usually repair all of my computers anyhow.
