I wish it was available so I could install it on my laptop as a separate partition. :(

Interesting, my dv2000's QP menu is in blue colors, not orange.

Yes, it is the latest version.

The default color scheme for Compaq is Orange and blue for HP. The color scheme can be changed in the options menu.

Hi to all. I am a new member here. I noticed that you know a lot about QuickPlay. Can anyone please help me with something? I just bought a pavilion dv8000 and it comes with quickplay installed. I tried to install it to my old laptop (just to see if i could...) and i managed to do it, even though there was an error indicating that it can be installed only on HP laptops. But the software i installed was only DVDPlay (it was on a folder in the C: partition). So i copied all the files from the pavilion to the acer and even though the files are now the same, the registry entries are the same it just doesn't have a quickplay menu so as i can open the music and photos screens, i can only use DVDPlay... Can anyone tell me how can i make it go to the MainMenu of QuickPlay?

I know that you have to have a seperate partition for quickplay to work when the computer is off but my old laptop doesn't have this kind of hardware button, so i don't think this is the problem...

I'm not quite 100% sure but if QP is installed on a machine which it does not recongnise to be compatible, DVDplay is all it is going to install.

Thanks so much for your answer. At first it would not install at all, but when i managed to install it, (you are right) it only installed DVDPlay. So i copied the folder as it was from the hp laptop and checked for registry entries. The folders were exactly the same down to the last bit and the registry entries were the same also. So what keeps it from showing the Main Menu of QuickPlay? I know i can't use it from a switched off laptop (and that is not my purpose), i just want to use it in Windows.

Miner, thanks again so much for taking the time to answer my post. I hope you have an idea of what to do next.

I wish I could help, but I currently dont have another laptop to try to get it working, but if and when do I will try installing QP and getting all the features to work and update this thread.

Well i guess we would come to that after all. Everything needs testing... So if you ever learn anything about this case (installing QP in a non-HP laptop) please do post. I will be watching this thread.
Or maybe if you have an idea as to where i should search for answers please tell me.
    Thanks a lot.
    Regards...
