hp shipping period

hi,
i recently placed order for dv6500t and at time of checking out they said will ship from factory by 15th Oct
i wanted to know usually how long do they take to ship a normal order as have bit of situation and i need it before 17th Oct 12 pm (personal reasons) and when i gave them a call they said that i cant change the shipping method to express 2 day now after placing the order
any suggestions people

dunno, I imgaine 3-5 days it would take for standard shipping.

Also on that note, HP support is awful and you have a high chance of dealing with an *******

 

No, don't do express shipping... Mine went out on the 3rd and arrived on the 5th. Oddly enough though, I have another that is to be built by the 10th... but nothing on it yet... hp normally ships earlier than the "build date" they tell you... guess not this time.....

 

Ordered mine Sept. 24th - Oct. 10th expected day to ship but it shipped Oct. 8th/Oct. 9thish.

 

Usually HP orders ship before the expected ship date. They set that date in case problems occur while building your laptop so they have extra time. Anyways, you usually get the laptop in 3 days after it was shipped. I know this might not help you out much, but that is how HP ships.

 

I'm pretty interested in this question too. Tomorrow will be "2 weeks" since I was told it would take "2 weeks" for my replacement system to arrive. Of course, I've heard nothing from my case manager and he never turns my calls.. so I'm getting a little anxious.

 

Were they giving you a CTO as a replacement or a retail model?

But don't count on that... normally I'd have my system by now, considering they said it would be built by the 10th of oct... nothing as of right now, the 9th. I hope it will go out tomorrow... guess they had a backlog of orders due to the specials.

But yea, most of the time they do ship early.

If you can't borrow a laptop on the 17th or find some way around needing 100% for sure before the 17th, then maybe you should cancel and go to bestbuy or order a pre-configured unit.

Depending on your situation, it might not be worth the bet, if they are behind on shipping... well, not behind, just not shipping early.

 

They shipped mine early... I paid for 2 day shipping but since it shipped early they are not sending it 2 day express. It should still get here on time though as previously planned. I'm kinda po'ed about that!

Hopefully it'll get here by Thursday as Fedex says right now.

 

CTO. There were no retail models in stock that were the "equivalent" of what I was eligible for.

If I had ordered a system that same day, it would have been shipped tomorrow, the 10th. So yeah.. I'd just be nice to hear a status update or something from my case manager. I already have the labels to send back the dead system, so I know its happening. I'd just like to be able to be here when it gets here and not have to rush to the FedEx building before it closes.

What do you mean? You will get back what you paid... nothing more, nothing less...

Hmm... you won't find anything worth a flip in the same price range... you might want to look for alternatives to your issue... the 30% off was a great deal if you used it to build a great system... by coupon took over $400 off the system.

 

yes you are right i got discount of $396, will have a look at the status Friday 12th evening and then decide on what to do as they take out weekends of their calculations and i think if they dispatch it technically a day earlier ie on 12th then have every chance of getting it on time

and its even more delayed considering they are supposed to be built and shipped from china

My order was suppose to be built my wed, 10 oct. On 10 (or was it 9) Oct they sent me a $50 coupon to say sorry it won't ship yet. I spent the coupon - $49.99 of it... left them with 1 penny.

Anyway, the laptop shipped Friday... got here monday morning. Hell-a-fast shipping... considering it is 5 to 7 day shipping.

 

I placed my order on the 3rd, estimates ship date was the 15th. Last Thursday I found out I was going to China for 3 weeks on the 22nd and will need this computer as I sold my other one.

I too tried to get customer service to upgrade my shipping last friday, they said no. I called yesterday to see what could be done , was put on hold for 10 minutes and disconnected.

It's the 16th and still no word on shipping. I'm going to try and call them again when I get to work.

The last 2 computers I've ordered from HP have shipped fast and arrived before or on the estimated ship date.

My order status has been changed to Shipped...hopefully it will arrive no later than Friday since I'm heading to China on Monday. Gonna bring it back to it's mother land!

Shipping from China was slow for me, it took a full week to get here from the actual email stating my laptop was shipped. Actually it wouldnt have been as bad but they shipped my laptop at 9:40pm on a Friday in China. Of course I didnt pay the extra for shipping so my laptop sat there until Monday. Very frustrating but what can ya do? HP shouldnt have even sent me the email until Monday, that way I wasnt checking the tracking every day and getting disappointed that it had not updated yet. lol, is the little things in life that can really drive ya crazy.

Anyway good luck and try to be patient, I know its tough.

Shipping was amazingly fast for me and they shipped early. I think I got it in less than 3 days after it shipped. And they shipped it 4 days early... Very pleased with that.

its already late by a day hope its not delayed more and the time was local that saves me few more hrs i guess due to time zone difference

 

The last two time's I've ordered from HP I received them on or before the estimated date. That's why I was concerned this time.

Maybe it's because I maxed out on the Processer, Hard drive, graphics,wireless etc (except the ram which I ordered 1 gig because I bought 4 gigs for 139 bucks after the 30buck rebate)?

Our computers must be on the same shipment. That's exactly what my tracking order says. My jaw dropped when I saw that - the expected build date wasn't even until the 24th - this seems to be waaaaaay ahead of schedule. I'm so excited!

When did you order yours? I ordered mine last week (October 10th). People have said that the computers typically get shipped before the date HP gives you, but I wasn't expecting anything this early.

Not that I'm complaining!

Now I'm just wondering how long it'll take to get to Oregon...

My laptop was picked up on a Monday in China by FedEx and I live in Eugene, I got my laptop by that Friday...so figure around 5 days to delivery to Oregon depending on how far out in the sticks you are.

 

Well then, I guess I'll probably shoot for next week - I'm in Eugene too!

There was another thread a little older called something like "Still haven't heard from Fedex", and there were a few people from that side of the country - I think some people were in TN or VA. Maybe their shipping times will be about the same as yours?

You might try looking in that thread, but other than that, I have no clue.

 

My estimated ship date was Oct. 17th, but I received it a day before that even.

Yet another jaw-dropping moment for me...I wasn't expecting it to get here until next Tuesday or Wednesday at the earliest, but on this Friday?

I guess the real test is to see if it actually DOES arrive at my door two days from now.

 

Mine says the same...I really hope it at least makes it to Va Beach by Friday, then maybe I can go pick it up at the local Fedex hub.

fingers are crossed...I need this before I head to China on monday!! guess I coulda just picked it up in person huh?

 

Picked it up today at Fedex. HP has been good to me again. Even included the little wireless remote that fits in the express card slot!

arghh... the wait is killing me. Ordered Oct. 11. Estimated ship date Oct 23. I thought surely they were sandbagging and would at least get it shipped by today. Nope, still "in production". On Tuesday if it hasn't shipped yet, do I call to complain or will they automatically give me something?

hi i think if they are not before time there are not late either except in my case where there was a delay of 1 day as they started shipping it on 16th rather then 15th as expected earlier but service is quiet good and i expect to get mine in few hours time

It shipped on the 18th but I didn't get tracking info until the 20th. Amazingly enough it was picked up in Shanghai on the 18th and was in Austin, TX by 5pm on the 20th Just got it delivered this morning. Can't wait to get back home from work and continue getting it setup.
