i've sent my dv4000 laptop to hp twice because just about every single 3d game hard crashes my computer, and also 3d graphic software crashes my computer. i have the latest drivers they provide for my ati x700 and i tried the omega drivers and that didn't fix it.

it seems logical that there is a hardware problem with my video card, but the first time i sent my laptop to hp, they replaced my cpu. that didn't fix anything so i sent it again and this time they replaced my hardrive. that didn't fix anything either, and now i'm worried that if i send it again they still won't fix it.

does anyone have any suggestions to get them to address the real problem? i've been using email support, would calling them be any better? has anyone else had similar experiences?

    thanks,

Maybe there's a diagnostic available that you could run. Have you tried running one on your RAM? Having a bad memory chip will definitely crash your computer. I have had it happen a couple of times. I've seen people on here recommend memtest. I'm not sure how much other testing you can do on your computer... you'd hope they would be doing it at HP, but that seems not to be the case.
