i dont know if anyone would know this or not or if its even possiable with the sheer number of computers they build. but heres my qustion do they even test the notebooks before they ship them like atleast boot them up just to see its working then ship them?

I'm sure they test the hardware with some software. It may not be exactly the software that you receive but they do test them in some way.

right on just getting alittle paranoid that when i get it, it wont work lol. it better or i'll kick the fed ex mans ass then i'll swim to china and beat the hp factory workers over the head with it. lol

Ummm... they put an IMAGE on the machine... they don't boot the OS after a build. -
Obviousley they don't. I just got a 9000t (that I waited almost 4 weeks for) to replace a 9000z that I'm having problems with and LCD backlight was broken.
That was my fourth broken HP in the past 8 weeks. Now I'm going with a different brand. -
Sometimes they ARE damaged in shipping...I had a Dell Desktop that arrive with a COMPLETELY SHATTERED case several years ago. I'm sure someone should have caught that.

yeah as i used to work for ups and they throw stuff around no matter what it is and im sure fedex doesnt ***** foot around either.
