This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    hp zd8000 cdrom drive not working again

    Is anyone else experiencing this problem. I bought a zd8000 series laptop less than a year ago and this summer the cd/dvd rom drive was not working properly. The dvd portion still worked fine, but not the cd. I could not read or write to a cd. HP replaced the part under warranty and it just happened again, not 8 weeks later - same exact thing. I am wondering if it may be a virus or software problem, or possibly just something wrong with this model.
