im new here,
i have a hp ze 4800 which needs new mobo but i was wondering if it had to be the same model or are there a few maybe better boards that will fit,
does anyone know?

Motherboards are specific to a model of laptop. So, unlikely any other different motherboard would fit in the system. HP usually offered 2 versions of the motherboard - a low end de-featured version and the other full featured version. If you can find one try to get the full featured version.

They are still the same model. HP always release a Compaq & HP versions of most of their laptops. The model numbers (like ze4819) they list are just the retail versions of the same model. So, when HP list several models as being compatible they still belong to the same family and so have the same components.
