I see no reason why it would not fit. The bezel on the dv2000 is angled so it probably will not line up the best. If you're OK with it so am I.

no, you won't have to do anything to the disk but visually the side of the laptop will suffer. The new drive simply will not fit in like the original one, unless you are able to put the old bezel, which is doubtful

The front bezel probably wont fit snugly with the laptop, especially in the dv2000t, but the drive itself shouldnt have any issues fitting into the laptop.

I was able to switch out the dvd-rom on my old dv6000 for a Pioneer DVD writer. I was able to switch the bezel with no problem.

Correct me if I am wrong.
Compaq V3000's front panel is straight, so it would fit smoothly. Right?

No, the front bezel is sloping down and back. Kinda like this '/'. It also curves around the bottom edge.

As has been noted since the bezel is angled probably not.
