    so i ordered a dv6000t on the 14th and it said that it should be built by the 19th... but the morons over at hp lost my order and they just got it build and said they shiped it to fedex today. it was supposed to have the free shipping upgrade where it came at the 23rd of december. when do you guys think it will arrive and do you think that they got me an upgrade for like next day shipping or anything from fedex or they just did the regular 5-7 day... they gave me a 50 dollar rebate to their store so i didnt know if they would upgrade the shiping. what do you guys think?

    that sucks...usually if they screw up they will next day it for you for the inconvenience. But if they gave you the rebate who knows...

    dang. i was hoping that they would next day it or do some sort of express shipping... cause i was gonna try and get it here be for the 25th but i wasnt to sure about it after the 50 dollars in store on their web page

    When I ordered my dv6000t in August they delayed my build date by a week (I think it was because a Core 2 Duo shortage) and they gave me the same 50 dollars and also upgraded my shipping to account for the delay. So they probably upgraded yours too.

    I just got done ordering a dv9700z. After six failed orders and a cumulative four hours on the phone I finally was able to get it shipped to me after a month of crap from HP. It has been a nightmare. I hate HP so much. And now that it's been shipped, it got held up in Alaska because the retards at HP forgot to give the shipment clearance papers. Since many people know me as a computer geek, many people ask me for a recommendation on a laptop they should buy. I will never in my entire life recommend HP to anyone. I hope HP goes belly up. The customer service I have gotten was terrible. I received no benefits from HP, and I'm out $100 because a coupon expired after one of my orders failed. I still don't have my laptop. HP Sucks!

    Seriously? Not once when you were ordering it for the sixth time, did you stop to think "hmm, this isn't going so well, maybe I should try something else"? Seriously.

    I'm curious..did you talk to them in a professional manner, trying to get it sorted out, or did you just yell at them? Typically you'll get better results if you stay firm, but polite.

    I have had a horrible time with my HP laptop as well. I first had a DV9500t. I had the laptop for 3 months and it crapped out on me one night. Woke up the next day and the screen was completely black and would not respond. I tried everything I could, and also tried to reinstall windows! The sad part is Windows couldn't even reinstall itself! It would die half way through the install and give some error messages. I finally decided to ship them the stupid laptop and when I got it back it still wasn't right. I couldn't download anything. The error messages would pop up saying I had to be an administrator to make changes. I was the only account, and was the administrator. FINALLY after over 30 hours total on the phone HP sent me a DV9700, and upgraded all the could (my hard drive) and sent me a new one. They told me my laptop would reach my door on Jan 2nd. I called on the 4th, because it still hasn't arrived, and they said there was a problem and the new delivery date is Jan 23!!!!! I finally got my new notebook on the 15th, and they also sent me Microsoft Office Standard, a docking station, and a laptop backpack for free. Stick in there and ask for a Case Manager! They are the ones who can give you anything you want!

    This will make you all sad you actually recieved it. My DV6745us Freaks out all the time with the monitor settings. I called wrote and more and they reallly don't care. I even paid for the 3 year anything happens we get you another one... there answer well in the fine print we have up to 10 days to get you a box. Not very happy. Then I find out from other forums it is a known issue HP refuses to address. I am contacting the better buisness bureau monday as they are not only not fufilling the warranty but they also provided a faulty product. Here is a piece of the actual conversation after getting no help...

    by the way still no call... I was very nice for the first 3 hours with india on the phone with a nice guy who swore his name was bob who transfered me to jeremy when he could not fix it. Jeremy hung up when i asked if this was a known issue if so how could I exchange it for a machine without this known issue as I used to depend on my hp before being forced to replace it out of my own pocket as they don't even want to create a case.

    I ordered a tx2500z before and they informed me it'll take a while to built because the 2.4 CPU was in high demand. I kept looking at their web site to see the progress of the delivery and found it inaccurate. I saw it going back east and stayed there for awhile but the next day it came (Honolulu). Also bought a Compaq before (BestBuy) and the video died within 30 days. Called them up followed their instructions on how to reset the laptop and when everything was done and a no go he connected me to the repair guys (they didn't recommend returning it to BB). I believe if you listen to them and not insult them you'll get a better service. Make sure you write everything down.. date, time, names, repair order numbers that's been said. They sent me a free box with free S&H to and fro to send the laptop in. They replaced it with an HP model and upgrades with it. Communication is the key, just tell your side calmly and to the point and listen to what they have to say. I turn off people when all I hear is blah blah blah and not the actual problem at hand.. and this goes true with my wife too! LOL

    HP is notorious for their service. I'd never do business with them if I didn't get my notebook so cheap.
