first i wanted something that stand out from the others. second, has anyone seen this version (white color) in person. i'm still not sure if i'll like it or not. The review says "is the most beautiful PC laptop around", i got it using coupon and discounts for $1123 . this r my spec

Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit)
    - Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo processor T7300 (2.00 GHz, 4 MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB)
    - 15.4" WXGA High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display (1280 x 800)
    - 75% OFF upgrade to 2GB DDR2 (2 Dimm)!!
    - 383MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS
    - HP Imprint (Influx) + Fingerprint Reader + Webcam + Microphone
    - Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 4965AGN Network Connection and Bluetooth(TM)
    - 160GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
    - FREE Upgrade to LightScribe SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-RW with Double Layer Support
    - No TV Tuner w/remote control
    - 6 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
    - Microsoft(R) Works 8.0

please can anyone tell me if it does look good in person, cause i like the black version but the discount was on this version so i went for it.

I personally think the black looks better than the white.

don't really think the $100 premium over the regular black one is worth it. it looks nice, but not $100 more nice.

Can I ask where you bought it from?

I'm pricing the same dv6500t (not SE, black) at the HP site.
I have most of the same options, except these:

    T7100 (1.80 GHz, 2MB cache)
    no NVIDIA
    yes Norton antivirus

and my price with tax is $1853.24!

How did you do it for $1123?

(offtopic) Why are you buying Norton anti virus? It's the worst program ever.

Oh, and I like white version better than the black one. They have them in Best Buy and Circuit City stores if you want to go take a look at one. I personally think they are really nice systems. It is what I am going to buy if I have problems with my Dell order (see signature below). I would say it is close to a Mac's white but it has lines on it, their imprint design, which makes it different. Of course, I have no experience with Macbooks whatsoever so I wouldn't be the best judge of that.

i use the $350 coupon discount plus employed discount from my uncle that works with them. another question. i had the choice to upgrade to 200gb 4200rpm from a 160gb 5400rpm, i didn't choose it cause i didn't want to have a super slow harddrive (4200) did i also made the right choice?

I've seen it a few times. Once at a Best Buy store and a friend of mine picked one up. The white is pretty trendy. It reminds me a lot of the Mac but it will stand out a bit as people will notice that it's white and not a Mac.

It's a good price for what you got. My friend absolutely loves the white. I personally prefer a darker color but that's just personal preference.

I have seen the white version, it looks nice. I personally like the black, but the white isn't bad looking at all. I think you made the right Hard drive choice.

    Yeah.
    I am new at this.
I've now seen all of the trouble it causes.
    I'm smarter now.

But how did eduard score that low price??

use this coupon at checkout NB9495 and it will knock off $300 off from the price, and i don't know what else can u use, maybe student discount. also about norton never use it. u have to many antivirus option which u probably haven't heard. (NOD32 - my favorite, kaspersky, zonealam, AVG antivirus - free but really good, etc)

anyway i have a copy of vista 32bit ultimate, which i will do a fresh installation without the bloware it comes with.

If you don't want the slow hard drive then you made the right choice. I would have sacrificed the speed for the extra space but that's just me. It only a 40 GB difference though. Usually your first instincts are correct. I think you purchased a great system. Let us know about it when you receive it!

I just tried the coupon code and it seems like it doesn't work if you have the APP on. Without the APP and just the regular store, it works great.
