    hey ppl :)

a few months ago when i was on the market for a laptop i ran into this site. after reading the review for the hp zv6000 i fell in love with it. i also used one at school because a friend of mine has one.

needless to say i wanted one..decided to place the oder about 3 weeks ago, but to my dismay i learnt that hp had discontinued the zv6000 line.

i was a bit disgruntled after gettin my heart set on a zv6000..

fast forward to monday of this week. i got a call and learnd my new laptop was in the island. (i live in jamaica, jamaican born and grown :D)

so went for it..and there i saw it..a dv5000z, lightscribe, 80 gig hdd, turion, ati video card, 512 ram..the works. from monday till now my laptop have travelled with me to school everyday, spent 2 nights on all night downloading stuff and i must say that this is a great piece of machinery.

we had a mini wireless lanparty at school yesterday and u should have seen some of these guys faces when i loaded up battlefield 2 on this baby :p

wireless works flawlessly, power management is great. i must say that whatever technology the turion uses to keep its temps down and batt life up is great. ive been surfing for about an hour now with the laptop in my lap and its barely hotter than room temp. im running the RM cpu clock utility just to monitor the clock speeds so right now its at 796 mhz, if i should open a program it goes up to 1.8ghz then goes back down to about 1ghz then back to 800..its great..

planning to upgrade to gig of ram in about a months time, HP shipped it with one 512 stick of ram so i jus have to buy 1 more 512 and im good to go

err..what else ..oh yea..its quite sexy (the laptop itself) ;)

    err..think thats it for now..

    im gonna play some battlefield 2 :D :D :D :D

With the 128mb 200M you can play stuff like BF2 without a problem, just at the lower settings. I'd definitely get more than 512 megs of ram though.

i am havin fun actully..mi desktop cant even run BF 2 because i use a geforce 3 ti 200 64 meg version..

is it safe to assume that the 'integrated' graphics on this laptop is better than the graphics card in my desktop?

if that is indeed the case then ill be even more happy :D :D :D

as to the review, the more i use it is the more i learn about it and love it. so i guess i can write a little sumethin and add some pics withen the week..

Yeah, the videocard in your notebook is better than the one in your desktop. Its still quite a low end card though. Don't be surprised if it chokes on any games newer than BF2.
