    hi,
i've read through the guides and i still don't quite get it.
i have not bought the dv 6000t yet but i'm leaning very much towards it.

    my question is this,
do i need to buy another copy of windows xp in order to reinstall windows? do the hp laptops come with recovery disks that already include the bloatware?

and which way is easier? both slip streaming the sata drivers or disabling sata support seem confusing to me.

You might want to look at this guide on how to do that. But I wouldn't get a new copy of XP at this point. You would be better off cleaning the OS as best you can and then get a copy of Vista when it is safe and stable (probably by summer).
