    I am looking for a Driver.
    Device manager shows:
    SM Bus Controller
    PCI bus 0, device 20, function 0
    no sound,no WLAN...etc

    This is a HP compaq presario F500 Laptop, Model: F500US (GF593UA)
    CPU: 25W AMD Sempron 3500+ 1.8GHz 1600MHz FSB 512K L2 Cache
    Chipset: Nvidia
    Memory: 512MB DDR2 P5300 2 Slots, 1 Open 2GB Max
    Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce Go 6150 128MB Shared
    Network: Broadcom Wireless BG, Nvidia 10/100 Ethernet, Modem
    Inputs: 86 Key Keyboard and Two Button Trackpad with Scroll Zones
    Buttons: Power and WiFi On/Off Switch.
    Ports: 3 USB 2.0 Ports
    Does anyone have an idea where to look for a driver that can help my problem? TNX

    Can't you right click on the items and choose to update driver? Or does it not find anything.

    It is part of the NVIDIA nForce chipset driver. If you are running vista then its available on the link posted by Adaptive above. If you are installing XP, get the VID & PID from device manager device details, and look for the correct nForce package which is available on the Nvidia website.

    I don't see the NVIDIA nForce Chipset Driver and Network Controller package for your particular notebook, but the same package for other GeForce 6150 chipset notebooks such as the Pavillion dv6000z should work. Give that a try.
