Hey y'all - should I get the Envy 4t with the i5-2467M or the i3-2377M? Both of these come with the Radeon 7670, but the i5 is $75 more expensive. Are there benefits of the i5 that I'd enjoy in day to day use? I'm a computer science student (lots of software development) and I do some medium to heavy media editing.

    Thanks in advance!

Well, the benchmarks come out as follows:
    i5: 2,386
    i3: 2,089
(reference: PassMark CPU Benchmarks - High Mid Range CPU's)

Not a HUGE difference per se; ultimately I don't think you'll notice much of a difference at all. Better safe than sorry, but books cost a *** ton.

That is a pretty big price difference given the Envy 4t is only around $700, however one thing to consider is that the Core i5 offers Intel's Turbo Boost technology, the Core i3 does not: Intel® Turbo Boost Technology — On-Demand Processor Performance

It doesn't sound like you'll absolutely need the ability to overclock from the standard processor speed based on intended usage, but it is one big advantage the Core i5 has over the i3.

Side note, I'm going to move this thread to the HP Envy forum.
