I don't think anyone else has posted this...

Updates iTunes a few days ago, and just pressed the quickplay pause button accidently and it worked!

I've double and triple checked, you no longer need to have iTuns selected to make the buttons work! iTunes can be minimised or in the taskbar..whatever!

I think this is great news =D

    Thanks for the news.

BTW, concerning mp3's skipping---I've never had that problem with iTunes.

On another positive note, I ripped 7 CD's into iTunes a couple of days ago and iTunes never locked up. It always did with my older HP notebook running XP Pro.

Thanks for the head-up on the new update. I don't know why I didn't receive an email notification from iTunes.

Mp3 skipping issue - I don't know if you guys are referring to the same thing but I used to play music at night before going to sleep via itunes. I'd always wake up with one part of an mp3 skipping over and over (always happened late into the night) like the program ran out of memory or something. Hitting pause/play or picking another song always fixed it.

Is that the issue you're describing?

Evidently. Have you downloaded iTunes 7.1?

Not yet - but mainly because I stopped streaming music from my itunes for a while. This would push me over to upgrade :). Thanks.

Mute button function does not work properly on my dv2000. I installed iTunes 7.1 and have the latest drivers for the QP button bar.

My QP mute button works when the iTunes page is on top but doesn't when another page is on top. The other buttons work regardless, so I use the "play/pause" button.

Just in case anyone else has a problem with the skipping again. I solved it straight out by deleting the quicktime bundled with itunes and installing the stand alone quicktime player. Mine hasn't skipped for weeks now, or the video.
That is in case the skipping starts or it happens for someone.

I too have problems with the mute button. Unless iTunes is on top it doesn't work.

Also, the iTunes taskbar doesn't work well.

Hopefully these will be fixed soon. Meanwhile I am using 7.02 with multi-plugin.

My quickplay buttons were working with itunes and now they aren't. They even worked when the itunes window wasn't opened. I tried restarting and it still didn't work. Any suggestions?

    You could try the following:

    1) Go to the directory where you installed iTunes
    2) Find a file in there called iTunesKeyboardCompatibility.dll
    3) Make a new folder in the same directory and draw that file into it
    4) Rename that new folder as iTunesKeyboardCompatibility.dll (note the extension is needed!!)
    5) Restart iTunes.
