can u guys answer a few questions for me?

    1. do you guys know if the dv6000 is gonna have a intel processor soon?
    2. at the same speed lets say 2.0 ghz is a amd turion x2 or duo core better
    3. how about turion x2 vs duo 2 core
    4. does amd or intel run hotter
    5. does amd or intel have better battery life
    6. which do you prefer? amd or intel

also today I cancelled my hp notebook and they offered me a bonus 100 dollar discount to not cancel. i read on the dv8000 review on this site that the same thing happened, he tried to cancel but hp gave him a discount. I told my friend to call in to cancel but he was given the discount. Instead he got his laptop cancelled... lol do you guys know why they sometimes give out discounts or not?

Intel is an overall better processor than AMD when it comes to the mobile processor market. Conroe is trying to do the same in the Desktop market too, and it's so far so good for them. But anyways, back to notebooks, and to answer your questions:

    1) It's probably going to take a while, and i won't be surprised if they release it with Merom. I'd say late September-ish for it to "hit the shelves"

2,3,4,5,6) Intel processor wins all debates.

And as to why they offer a hundred dollar discount? It's because they are losing a sale, if you cancel. They'd rather have some profit than not have any at all. It's just a good(?) business tactic. Just think of it this way - you run a store and a cutsomer orders something from your store. It's a pretty big sale, and how would you feel if he said,"You know what, I don't want it. Could you please cancel the order?". Wouldn't you try to draw him away from that and make the sale, as long as it doesn't kill your profit? You might throw in some freebies, or give him a discount; do something. That's exactly what HP is doing here.

    1. Most probably.
2.They are more or less equivalent, but there are cases where one might have an advantage over the other.

    4.No
    5. Depends on the tyoe of use. FRom my experience they are closely matched. I average around 2:30 with my 6 cell under similar conditions to the person who reviewed the dv2000t who got the same battery life.
