I'm considering buying an HP nc6400 in the US, but will be using it a great deal in the UK, so being able to get it serviced in the UK will be a big advantage.
Others at the forum here have said HP has good international support, but this guy's experience suggests otherwise (in fact, they make it sound like I should stay far, far away from HP). Does anybody know if I can get support for a US-bought HP laptop if I upgrade my warranty options when I buy?
And does buying from a reseller affect available warranties and support options? I think I read somewhere that laptops bought from NewEgg, for instance, can't be returned.

Ah, some information from HP:

So it appears to hinge on whether or not the HP nc6400 I want to buy is actually sold in the UK as well. Anyone else have experience with this sort of thing? -
Business models have 3yr international warranty. Pavilions and compaqs don't
Look here. This is the UK version of HP's page, nc6400 is under "balanced mobility" -
