    is it normal for HP repair to ask me to send both AC adapter and battery??

    I've sent computers in for repairs before and they've never asked me to do that. :confused:

    HP will ask for these items to be shipped if they suspect that the problem can only be replicated using your power supply or battery, the request is atypical but not uncommon.

    True. I find almost everyone asks for the charger if available as a number of charge, performance and stability issues can arise with a bad power supply and/or battery
