    hi everyone?

I am not sure about this, but my dv5 seems to have this AWESOME feature where if i run my finger along the touch sensative media buttons the laptop will turn on.

but when the laptop is in my messenger laptop bag, it sometimes turns itself on from hibernate mode.

so now im thinking that its not a feature, but a problem or something wrong physically where some pressure is turning the laptop on.

can someone clear this up because my laptop is dying during my day at school and i need it for those late 8pm classes that last until 11

    yes

if you hit the Q..or quickplay button, the laptop does turn on

as for it booting from hibernation mode....is a bit wierd and perhaps this may not help but give it a shot

first of does this happen while walking through your uni. campus or something...reason why i ask this is

make sure wake up on LAN or any feature like this is disabled in both WIFI and ethernet LAN (it might be picking up wifi and some packets may be waking up the pc (IMO...it should work for ethernet only...not for wifi...but give it a shot)

secondly, maybe a touch button and it's contact terminals may have come loose.... but then that is going to be more difficult to isolate and fix
