Hi all, so i finally decided to get this dv4t upon tax free sales (oh yes people just a reminder aug 1 thru 3 its tax free on hp). this is how i customized it:

so my question is should i upgrade it to 64 bit instead? cuz all im seeing here n there is that not a lot of software drivers have had the 64bit version, or like it should have 4GB to support 64bit. n with all the things going on w/ NVIDIA graphic card is it still ok to get the 9series?
thanks a lot x 10000000 times!!!!!

im buying 3gb only bcuz i dont want to mess around with 64bit specially if my printer doenst have driver for that... u should check first even the smallest thing like a game that wont work with 64 and see if its for u.
9series has no reported problems at the momment
i cant tell u though it its a good deal w/o price -
You didn't post how much you would pay for it....
Also, if you are using it for school and won't do modern gaming, consider getting the dv5t. It is bigger but not by much and you can get an integrated GPU which will reduce heat and price. Furthermore, you will likely spend roughly 300-400 less via a coupon code and student pricing if you choose the 15". -
thank you so much!! -
To the OP, be careful of the pricing when ordering through the CTO configurator, as the instant rebates are not being applied to the final cost. There must be a glitch on the site, and I've contacted the webmaster to inform them of the error.

yes im currently in college but hoping that i'd get a 14 inch lappy, since it probably is easier to be carried around with. ive only seen some 15inch DELLs, n they are quite huge n heavy to me....so there actually is heating problem with dv4t then??
thanks for the reply!!! -
thanks a lot!!! -

anyway good luck with it! -
Hopefully it won't be as warm-running and noisy as my current dv6400. I have an estimated build date of Aug 7th, and can't wait to get my hands on it before I turn it over to him......
-
However, the dv5t does have some concerns which can be dealt with as per Chaz's posts but are still not ideal.
If you are planning on putting a dedicated card into the dv4t and gaming for hours on end, I would assume it might have similar problems.
We will probably know in the next few weeks as more and more people receive their dv4t's. -
I've seen you and Chaz talking about testing in the dv5t owner post. problem with me is that im kind of in a rush.i sure dont wanna throw almost 1000 bucks out but end up frustrating with hp customer support(which seems to be one of the most horrible support ever)......
i play games lightly, like a few times a week, n i dont think i'l be playing up to hours each time.but i do want a decent card in my laptop. so i guess if it has average cooling should be fine with me.
thanks a lot!! -
hope that u wont get addicted to it n pass your old 6400 to him instead....lol -
