How is it?

You got everything I did but for the CPU. other than the graphics issue I had (i had to return it), the laptop is awesome. the screen is freaking gorgeous (as long as you don't mind the "look" of a matte screen). Blu ray movies looks better on it than when I output to a larger LCD panel. oh, and the dark umber is the bomb.
-
Is the switchable graphics working for you?
-
You should have used this coupon, see if there is any way you still can. It's good for $375.00 off of your order - NBQ5286. -
You didn't buy any warranty/Service?
-
-
Oh...I didn't know those are extra. What kind of warranty it comes with? BTW, I haven't bought mine, so I didn't know.
-
1 Year basic warranty. I bought through Amex and got an extra year, which I think is a better idea than going through a cashback card.
-
-
i dont really want a 17 -
Yeah...just bought the DV6tqe and used the AMEX for the extra year.
And...FWIW, I plan on going with a Square Trade extended warranty/accidental damage plan. It's a bit pricey but I will get a total of 3 years warranty/accidental damage coverage. I searched and found Square Trade coupon codes on various web sites. I haven't pulled the trigger on this yet but plan on doing so before delivery. Perhaps someone else will have an opinion on this? Looks pretty good to me. -
That code also works for the DV6tqe....I used it successfully myself! You save a heck of a lot of money doing it that way. Good luck! -
it was originally like 1500/1600 -

I suggest you try using the code NBQL6835 with the same configuration and see if it is cheaper. It's the new 33% off coupon that just came out. If so, you can call HP and ask them to refund you the difference. -

My original order was $1099 + tax/sh with 8gb ram upgrade, FHD screen, 9 cell, 1gb 6770m, blue ray player
And now its time to return my dv6t qe. Going to save $123 by not having the blue ray upgrade and 2gb less of ram (down to 6gb).
What I didnt like: pretty sure it was build quality issue but my right click trackpad button felt very loose compared to the left. Didnt feel sturdy when carried around with palm on the battery -

I have the same issue with the right click trackpad button...it's definitely must looser than the left one...not a huge deal, but it's definitely annoying me... -
is the loose right click button common for the DV6tqe??? bc i just placed my order yesterday.

$1,399.99 - $462.00 Coupon = $937.99 + tax = Grand total $996.61
i went from having an Hp Envy 14 which was really nicely build IMO. it felt sturdy and strong but i ended up returning it and ordering a dv6tqe bc of the better specs it offers.
will there be a big difference in build quality between the dv6tqe and envy 14? -
How come nobody selects the blue-ray writer? I want to convert all my HD videos and burn them to Blue-ray discs. But it is a $150 upgrade. Is buying an external Blue-ray writer cheaper?

I was actually in the same situation. I ordered with the $375 coupon and like the very next day they release this 33% discount coupon
. I called up hp sales and asked for the difference. After a ~30 minute call with the sales rep she said I will receive the refunded difference
Only thing I'm worried about is if my 3.6% cash back from fatwallet on the original order/price would still be valid. I figured though I can live without the cashback since the new coupon is so much better -

So, just to relish in my glory. I just purchased a beautiful, preimum dv7t Quad Edition complete with Blu-ray, 1080p, 7200 rpm 750GB HD and 6GB of memory for $1019.99.
Sometimes it's really hard for me to believe anyone could find reasons to hate HP or their customer service department. -
Shambala said: ↑A 30 minute phone conversation didn't sound too appealing, so instead I opted to use the text based customer support on HP's website. I had a lovely representative who was speedy and efficient, and explained that HP only honors price differences before discounts and coupons - but would offer me a credit of $50.00 for being a "valued customer". Works well enough for me.

hey i have a question, i just checked a youtube video and i saw that the laptop has a touchscreen but the hp site doesn't say anything about it. Then what about the switchable graphics, i heard that you can't switch manually?
-
The touchscreen was offered to only to the 4th and 3rd generation models of the dv6.
The 6th generation major revision 1, at the moment, no longer have the ability to switch manually. -

A call might be shorter than mine all depends on how fast the rep you get is. Good luck.
