I was fixing the wifi button issue and managed to break a few of the hindges on my keyboard (delete and f12). Well, i broke the f12 trying to use that hindge on the delete key. So, my question is: Does anyone know where i can get a replacement keyboard for a decent price? or if any other keyboards are compatible?

    any suggestions very appreciated

The first thing would be to find out the part number of your keyboard.

Once you have that type it into google and ebay to see if there are any local it suppliers who can help you.

    sounds good.

I looked around the net and there were very few dv8t keyboards available. The few that I found were between $60 and $130. I did find a few dv7 keyboard for very cheap. Does anyone know if they are compatible? Other than being a different color, i think they are almost identical.

well, the dv7t keyboard arrived. unfortunately, the screw and tab pattern was off. Also, it might have a different ribbon as the computer did not recognize it when i connected it. now, do i order a hdx18 keyboard and hope it lines up or bite the bullet and pay $60 for a dv8t replacement
