and wow, i mean sure they are helpful but only if YOU know what the problem of your notebook is or at least have some technical knowledge of computers.
as you may know (see sig) my notebook died and i just got the parts to replace my notebook parts with the ones i painted and called tech support
when i tried to explain the problem, a black screen and before that wireless card no longer detected, the tech support tried to help even though i told them that i don't see anything on the screen (after the many times they tell me to get into the bios, which i cant even see)
anyways they wanted to charge me $298 to fix it.
here comes my backlash
after that i said that i was doing my own research and found a page on the HP site about a "free repair" on my notebook and similar notebooks with the same problem and i told him that i had the SAME EXACT symptoms as what the "HP free repair" stated.
then after about 10 min of no reply from him he says that he is willing to offer a ONE TIME FREE REPAIR for my notebook since it is out of warranty and goes on to get into details.
then i tell him how can i not be legible for the free repair? it states 24 months after the 1 year warranty has started and that i am still legible for it for about 3 months. - no reply
then he begins to ask for my information (to ship the empty return box)
then i confront him and he finally states that it is the "HP free repair enhancement"
i would have asked him why did he want to charge me $298 without looking at the "HP free repair enhancement" but i did not want to sound angry.
anyhow, at least my notebook is getting fixed, but im not going to get my hopes up because there are other forum members on here who say that the problem persists even after the repair(s)![]()

HP support/customer relations is the absolute worst.

ok, for those who have had to send in their notebooks to hp for repair, how long did it take for the box to get to your doorstep? did someone have to sign for the empty box or can they just leave it by the door?
also did you bring the box to a fedex location or did you schedule a pickup?
also what was the turn around time for these kinds of things? because i have read some threads on this and i hear it takes a few weeks to a month even though the rep said 9-14 days turnaround -
I sent client notebook was problay 14 day done fix laptop ship back
2 day to get the box it trackable both way
the box to you the box be sent back and the repair laptop be sent you It was pretty painless
and quick process -
really? the tracking # they gave (empty box to me) shows up as not found.
but the tracking # (from me to HP) shows up as "shipped 9.9.08, estimated delivery 3:00pm"
just talk to HP technical support - v3000z
