Now it looks like the x700 was taken out for it!

Along with processors faster then 1.8Ghz.

I can't believe there are only four Compaq models left. HP should release some info before hand when they do these strange changes. I'm sure many people who visit the site less often will be absolutely confused if they open it today. I wonder what will HP do with the x700? Maybe in the renewed R4000?

The truth, probably, is that HP guys are doing rearrangements, again and some of the models will be back soon.

I think Intel pays computer manufacturers to use the Intel chipsets with their Intel processors.

HP probably inked a deal with nvidia to put their gpus in some of the models instead of the x700.

It's a shame that theres no dedicated graphics card on the Compaq line anymore...

I'd wager that a new model/refresh with dedicated graphics will be out by the end of the month. I don't think this is anything more nefarious than a product update because the GPU manufacturers have switched to a new line.

I got the crappy v4000t for $336 this morning! Such a sweet low price.

Yeah l noticed that insanely low price as well. l could have gotten 3 with change leftover for what i'm paying for my V4000T!

But l'd never do that... :D

HP got rid of the X700 across the board and are now offering a NVIDIA® GeForce® Go 7400...any idea on how this stacks up?

    The 7400 has a 64-bit memory interface while the x700's is 128.

Also l think the 7400 scores below 2,000 on 3dmark05 while the x700 gets around 2,500.

Yea, but the 7400 Supports Pixel shader 3.0+ right?
    That's important...

Anyway, I also am glad I got my v4000T when I did.. I don't see any laptops on HP's website now that I'm interested in and are within my price range.. All I see in the Compaq section for video cards is the ATI 200M.

I don't like the look of the pavillion laptops. My silver v4000t is just awesome... Maybe it'd be better if the top of the lid was silver too.. But still, I love my v4000t. :D
Shame to see the series just go *poof* like that.

Its a shame if their going to kill the v4000 model. Even if i have the crappy slow integrated video card i still love my v4000

Where did you get it...it's not available on HPs site.
I was just about to buy v2000z - will the v4000t appear again at $336??

Just hold off for a bit. HP will probably eventually bring something better out.

You might want to look into the MSI-1029. A system configured similarly to my old v4000t (i returned it) was within $100.00. The only difference is it uses a turion processor, but it still comes with an x700 standard. I'm still debating if I should get it or not.
