    laptop for xbox display

    im trying to connect my xbox to my laptop but i cant get a picture.
    its a hp pavillion dv5000 and im using an Hp expresscard analog tv tuner
    and i plug the video and sound cables (the red,white,yellow cables) but i dont no what program i have to use to get the pictue from the xbox. i use Windows Media Center to watch tv if that helps at all but i cant find ne way to get the video from my xbox

    ne 1 have ne ideas?

    The problem here is that the computer is expecting the kind of input that a cable box would give--not the kind of signal that an xbox is sending out. It's the same reason that the tuner card can't recieve input directly from a dvd player. The logical solution would be to find one of those handy boxes that lets you use a coaxial connection out from the xbox. BUT DON'T DO THIS. Well, you could, but the effort would be futile--because there is about a 1.5 second lag on anything that comes in from the tuner card (like a tivo, media center is recording a tiny buffer to facilitate the dvr capabilities). You're pretty much stuck, unfortunately.

    o well ok well thanks other thin things i read said that it gave really good picture quality but i guess thats with the lag

    Nope, same picture quality. Even a little worse. What they are probably talking about is VGA input, in which you plug directly to the laptops monitor, and you don't need any extra hardware. Sort of like an HD Display. But laptops can't do this, because laptops only have VGA Out not VGA IN, which is required for a really good picture.
