    laptop making weird noise

    ok ever since i got this thing its been making a weird noise occasionally. lately its been doing this constantly. the noise sounds like a water dropplet or something. its a presario v5000. any help?

    If it appears to be coming from the hard disk, then that is normal. It should make a sort of clickling noise, every few seconds. This is nothing to worry about. However, if the noise is coming from some other part of the notebook, then you should post back, and describe it in a little more detail. Hope this helps.

    i cant really describe it really...it just sounds like this water like sound thats been happening alot...like 50 times a minute. im pretty sure its coming from the HD.

    50 times a minute...this too often to come from the HDD unless you are constantly stressing it. Are you sure it's not the fan?

    If he is running programs on his laptop the hard drive will constantly be looking for data and spinning so you should hear that. Now if its not spinning and looking for data your drive might be dying

    its no where close to a clicking sound...like i said...it sounds like a water dropping sound
