    I got a 4610us lappy that came with 256mb of memory. I got a stick of crucial 256mb. System only shows 448mb instead of 512mb. Whats going on here?

    Shared memory video. You can probably change how much memory is allocated to video in the BIOS, but the current allocation is about right. As a rule I recommend spending a little more to get notebooks with dedicated memory video cards.

    yeap, i forgot about the shared video memory. May have to go with a stick of 512mb instead of the 256 stick.
