    hi i have taken the keyboard off the laptop... i try to load boot cd but have constant beeping if i get to dos i have this yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy i cannot stop the letter y ..i have also updated my bios.. i have no keyboard on the laptop ...i have also used usb keyboard ..both ways i still get yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy this is a strange one..thankspaul

    check for a short of the pins where the keyboard connects to the motherboard.
