u could buy an External sound card and use it that way, u cant upgrade the sound internally im afraid.

Do you need one of those to connect a subwoofer? Specifically a regular sub with RCA cables (not made for PC). That way I can actually get some bass from my laptop speakers when I'm at home!

No, none of our notebooks come with sound blaster, they are usually Connexant modem/sound cards.
