Before i go ahead and download and install several different drivers from laptopvideo2go i thought i might just ask around to see what you guys have experienced with those drivers and which one might work best right now.

Im currently running the 163.44 version for vista 32 bit and im getting great results but im still curious and looking to update if there is better performance.

    I own a dv9500t with nvidia 8600 gs

By the way, how do you guys "measure" the performance of the driver?

I use drivers 15845 because I believe they are the latest ones that allow you to overclock (with rivatuner 2.06). You can measure your performance by downloading 3dmark06 and running it over with every change (driver or clock speeds).

169,04 works really good for me, boosted the 3dmark06 performance with over 200 points compared to the stock drivers that came with the computer :)

btw, my first post here, this is a great forum!

ok so i ran 3DMark06 and this is the score i got:

    2472

how do i interpret this? i also noticed that there are many variables that can be changed when running the test, will this change the score based on the settings you select?

im running nvidia 8600gs with drivers version 163.44 from laptopvideo2go

what are your scores on a similar setup?

You need to use Rivatuner 2.06 to access the shader clock. I left it synced to the core clock meaning when i increased the core clock the the shader clock would increase along with in a prespecified ratio. If you are allready using RT maybe you need to use a different driver version to access the shader clock option. Try 169.04
