I searched for answers to the above but could not find relevant posts, so forgive me if this has been covered.

My new dv9000t makes a subtle but real whining noise from the lcd screen (i believe this is the source) that disappears from time to time for brief moments based on power usage (i.e. if the hard drive is being accessed), but is generally there all the time. It is very high pitched and mostly just noticable when using it in a quiet environment.

It's not very important, but given that it is new and all I was wondering if this is a problem I should just live with, and if other users have noticed this. I have not heard this on other notebooks I have used.

    Thanks for any thoughts.

Awesome, thanks for the reply. I am a total loser for missing that thread, sorry! It seemed like every search I did brought up too many threads about people whining, not the computer.
I will try that fix when I get back from work, thanks.
