    leaving your notebook on

    this is a stupid question, but i have a zx5000 and am wondering if it is alright to leave it powered on for extended periods of time like overnight for example. any help would be greatly appreciated.

    absolutely fine, after a time the laptop will go into hibernate mode in which it copies consumes less power and won't run the fan or anything like that. it's still good to reboot your computer from time to time, but leaving it on for days at a time even should offer no problems.

    Or you could change your settings and it wont go to hibernate on its own. I have mine set to just shut the monitor off and the hard drives, but to leave it turned on. I do however have my power button linked to hibernate, so whenever I'm going to pack up my laptop and move it, I hit the power button once and it prepares itself and goes into hibernate.
